It appears we are missing some metal part to install TH480R. I ordered these and the TH711400.

I think you are referring to the fit kit. The correct fit kit for a 2009 Honda Ridgeline is # TH145191. These are what secure the Evo clamp feet, # TH710501, to the roof of the vehicle. Also, the bars you got, # TH711400, are not long enough. The correct bars are 60 inches long, # TH711500.
