Question:
what is the extra set of studs about 3inch behind the hub on this part Trailer Idler Hub Assembly - 5,200-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 - E-Z Lube Item # 52655IEU
asked by: Robert P
Expert Reply:
The studs you are referring to, on the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly item # 52655IEU, is the 5 bolt brake flange. For compatible brakes and drum assemblies you could use Electric Trailer Brake Kit item # AKEBRK-7-SA and Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # 8-201-5UC3-EZ. The brake assembly and hub/drum isn't required, but it can be added if needed because of the brake mounting flange being there.
