Question:
I am going to start towing with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The trailer I am looking at has electric brakes, do I need a controller or does my Jeep already have one since it came with the factory tow package? If I need to add one can you tell me which one will be easy to use and install.

You will need a trailer brake controller since the factory tow package on your 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee only includes the receiver and the trailer wiring needed for the lights. Luckily it also includes the wiring for the brake controller so you will only need a pigtail with the brake controller to be on your way.
I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it uses an LCD screen that is customizable and easy to read. To connect it to the factory wiring on your Jeep the Pigtail # TK93VR is all you will need. One end will plug into the factory connector, and the other end will plug into the back of the controller. I have linked a couple videos below showing the installation process as well as how to use it. This controller is also proportional which will automatically adjust the brakes based on the inertia felt inside the vehicle when the brakes are applied. This will make it easier while you are driving since you will not have to make adjustments to the controller for light or heavy braking.
