Is there any idea of when Yakima will release a compatible setup for the new vehicle? How often do they make changes? We need to be ready for a planned road trip by mid-February.

I have a solution for you. I confirmed with Yakima that they currently do not have an engineered fit that will allow you to use your Yakima crossbars like the Yakima JetStream - 50" # Y00425 from your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee on your 2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport with flush rails. This is because they have not had the chance to do testing for fits with particular towers and landing pads on the 2022 model.

However, if you are looking for a different setup that is confirmed to fit, I recommend the following parts:
