How Wide Is The Channel In The TRC J-Channel Trim 362416-955

Question:
Do you have a practical example of the J-channel trim on a trailer? Could it be used as bottom rail with siding nesting in channel? If so is there enough space to overlap .040 sheets? How wide is channel?

Expert Reply:
I spoke to TRC and the gap/channel in the J-Channel Trim # 362416-955 will measure 0.154" (diagram included). Though we have not done any installs with this as of yet, so no pictorial examples, there will be absolutely no issues with the overlapping .040" sheets of your siding.
