I have found a great hitch for your 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS and it does not require any cutting of your rear bumper. It's the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13190. This is a custom fit hitch receiver that is specifically designed for your Mercedes. The only cutting that is required for install is some slight trimming back of the heat shield beneath the rear of your vehicle. This heat shield is not visible from the rear of your car. I have attached a picture that will show you what the heat shield will look like after it is trimmed away. I have also attached a picture that shows where the receiver sits after it is installed on your Mercedes. I have also linked an installation video so you can see the entire process.
I recommend the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C59236. This harness provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights.
