Does Install of Roadmaster Swaybar on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Require Drilling

Published 10/14/2021

Question:

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD 5.9L Diesel Pickup. Could you please help with the following. 1 Will the RM-1129-122 bar replace my factory rear sway bar without modification drilling, etc to my vehicle? Will it bolt up to the factory mounting locations and holes? Will it fit with a 4 inch exhaust? Does the bar have the same shape as the factory bar? 2 I read in one of the customer reviews, that the reviewer needed to move the fuel tank to the side to be able to remove the bolt attaching the upper end of the link to the frame bracket. Is this a problem and if so, do you have any suggestions on removal without moving tank? Is this a problem with installing the new bar? 3 Are there any other problems with the installation in my vehicle?

The Roadmaster rear sway bar part # RM-1129-122 is a confirmed fit for your 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD, it replaces the factory sway bar, uses factory mount locations and does not require drilling. It wasn't tested with aftermarket 4 inch exhaust but looking at how the exhaust routes on your vehicle and the location of this I do not believe it would be an issue.

Removing the tank bracket is sometimes required to access the bolt. It's not as difficult or challenging as it may sound like though.
