Question:

I have a Suzuki SX4 2011 with factory installed rails. I want to attach a Thule hullavator pro kayak lift. What type of cross bars will work for this?

The Thule Hullavator # TH898 requires that your crossbars extend past the towers/legs by at least 4" on each side. Also, keep in mind this unit is rather heavy (about 40lbs) so when you figure in the weight of your kayak you want to make sure you are not exceeding the weight limit of your roof or roof rack. I recommend checking your owner's manual to verify the weight capacity of your vehicle's roof.

Now for a roof rack that fits your 2011 Suzuki SX4 with factory roof rails, I would go with a long aerodynamic crossbar setup that offers reduced wind noise and a T-slot channel for channel-mounted accessories. I recommend going with the Thule WingBar Evo crossbars 53" # TH711420 along with the necessary Feet # TH710401. The weight capacity of this system is 165 lbs, but as I mentioned before you will want to check your vehicle's roof weight limit.

In order to make sure you have 4" overhang on each side, measure the distance between your side rails; if this distance is 45" or less then you can mount the Thule Hullavator.
