Class U Rated Tire Chains for 275/70R18 Size Tires
Published 10/08/2021 >
Question:
The owners manual of my 2019 RAM 3500 states that a U Class chain is required for my vehicle with the factory installed LT275/70R18E tires. Is this set of chains considered a U class?

Expert Reply:
Class U tires chains need at least 0.91" (23mm) sidewall clearance and the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2533 have a link thickness of 0.216" (5.5mm) so you will be just fine to use these on your 2019 Ram 3500 with 275/70R18 size tires. I don't think these chains have a specific "Class" rating, but they are smaller than what is required for your application. I confirmed this with my contact at Titan Chain.
