How to Carry e-Bikes with a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Question:

Hi - can you recommend your top 3 picks for a Trunk Mounted Bike rack 2019 Range Rover Sport that will be holding 2 electric bikes - Townie style bikes, please? Is there anything I should know about ordering any accessories that are a must-have? Price range: $100-200 Need asap - bike trip planned for 10/23. Thank you!

I do have a solution for you, but it's going to look a bit different than what you're asking for because of 2 things; 1. trunk mount racks can only hold lighter 35 lb bikes, and 2. the only trunk mount racks that fit your 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport are the high-end SeaSucker options that use vacuum cups to mount on the body of your vehicle. With all of that in mind, I recommend installing a trailer hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack because it is the only solution that will be able to safely handle the weight of your heavier e-Bikes.

For a trailer hitch I recommend the Curt # C13243 which will fit your Range Rover Sport as long as you don't have a Hybrid version of the vehicle. If you have a full size spare then you will need to move it for this hitch to fit as well.

Then for a bike rack I recommend checking out the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR because it can carry up to 70 lb bikes and accommodate up to 3" wide bike tires.

I know this isn't necessarily the news that you want to hear, but since trunk mount racks have vehicle-specific fits and there are none that fit your Range Rover Sport, this is the only way that you'll be able to transport your bikes with your vehicle. If you have a different vehicle that you can take on your trip then I would be more than happy to see if there is another option for you if you can get me the year/make/model of that vehicle.
