Is it Normal for PSI to Increase in Air Bags When Loading a 2021 Ram 3500

Published 09/22/2021

Question:

I installed the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs on my 2021 Ram 3500 and the psi really jumps when I put a heavy load in the bed of the truck. Is it something wrong or is the way it should be?

That is normal. When you increase the cargo weight in your truck that downward force will on the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs, # AL88231 should see an increase in psi. There is greater pressure being placed on the air bags. I will caution that you do not overload, not only your cargo capacity but the psi rating too. Don't exceed 100 psi. If you are concerned with getting too close to max, deflate the air bags, do not go below 5 psi and finish loading your cargo. Then inflate to needed pressure.

If you don't already have an air compressor kit, I recommend the Air Lift WirelessAIR, # AL74000. This lets you adjust 2 air springs (sold separately) independently with the wireless remote control. This allows you to monitor each spring with built-in, digital air pressure gauges and notifies you of leaks or compressor failure.
