Question:

I have a 2016 F-150 with a Bak Revolver X4s roll-up tonneau cover. Is this rack compatible with it? The X4 sits inside the rails and leaves the stake holes completely exposed. Most of the ladder racks Ive seen though use a J-hook to clamp to the rails which would interfere with the covers operation. This will only be used to carry two 10ft kayaks and leave the bed open for additional cargo. The kayaks only weigh 47 pounds each. I lso would prefer a ladder rack that comes in black since both the truck and cover are black.

Yes, since the stake pockets of your BAK Revolver X4s # BAK27ZR tonneau cover on your 2016 Ford F-150 (6-1/2 ft. bed) leave the stake pockets open, the Adarac Pro Series Ladder Rack # A4000946 will be a perfect fit with your tonneau cover. Also, the # A4000946 is the silver version of the rack. We currently don't carry a matte black version of the Pro Series rack for your 6-1/2 ft. bed.

As far as mounting your kayaks on your Adarac Pro ladder rack, I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style or Post Style # Y04073. The JayLow will be able to fit the 1-1/2 inch width of the ladder rack's square crossbars and will be able to accommodate both of your 47-pound kayaks. For your second kayak, you will need an additional set of Yakima Bow/Stern Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops # Y04031. Also, to deter theft, I recommend the Yakima Same-Key System Lock Cores # Y07202.
