What To Do If Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch DR46MR Is Not Lining Up With Frame Of 2021 Toyota Venza

Question:

Hi I just received the draw-tite class 3 hitch #DT46MR 76428 from etrialer for my toyota venza 2021. however, we are having issues with fitting - We removed the muffler and tow hook as instructed but, we are not able to fit the hitch sufficiently all the way up adjacent to the car frame to align with the nut holes. The hitch is only able to pass a few cm before it gets wedged on both sides passenger and driver of the car frame. It gets wedged to the point where we feel we need a mallet to pound the hitch in the package also came torn with the hitch side frames sticking out pictures attached. Im concerned the hitch frame may have been slightly bent during shipping and thus making the fit too snug.

It is not unheard of for the side plates of trailer hitches to get flexed during shipping due to the size and weight of trailer hitches.
