Does The Camco RV And Marine Disposable Water Filter Remove Rust From Water

I noticed one review said it didnt remove rust from the water. Is that true?

I spoke with Camco, and they explained to me that the Camco RV and Marine Disposable Water Filter w/ Hose Protector # CAM40043 will remove some rust but not all of it. My recommendation is if you get a lot of rust in your water to invest in a water softener. Water softeners are designed to use a chemical reaction to remove dissolved metals from the water, while a filter removes the solids from the water.
