Question:
With this controller at this price point, it should come with all wiring needed for installation. Im seeing i would have to purchase an additional adapter for another 13.00?

I can understand why this might be frustrating. When it comes to installing the Curt Spectrum # C51170 in your 2019 Toyota Tacoma, you can hardwire the controller in to the vehicle and no additional parts or wiring are required. For this reason, the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In # C51455 adapter isn't a required part to complete installation; it's more of a convenience to use than a required part. These adapters are also vehicle specific, which is why they're sold separately and not as part of a package.
With that said, the plug and play adapter is designed to make installation quick and easy by avoiding any hard wiring. The Curt Spectrum # C51170 is also a premium brake controller that gives you a fully customizable control with the adjustable knob, plus it installs out of the way so there's nothing to bang your knees on like a traditional controller.
