I found the answer info on what to do before flat towing your 2018 Ford Fiesta and listed it before and will address it below it:
If your Ford Edge has an ignition key (not a keyless start), you will start the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal and then turning the ignition key until the vehicle starts. You will then press the brake pedal and shift the transmission into neutral. Turn the vehicle off by turning the ignition key past the accessory position. The key should be positioned between the accessory and off position. You will lastly disconnect the negative (black) cable from the battery and start the engine within 15 minutes from doing so.
So you would not want to take the ignition and move it to the off position as that would lock the steering wheel.
I highly recommend taking a look at your copy of the owner's manual, as its possible you have a different model and there may be other restrictions or guidelines for you to follow. The section for flat towing should be titled "Recreational Towing". The information I found was located on page 236-239 of the manual.
