Troubleshooting Trailer Lights Trailer Detection System On a 2021 Chevrolet 2500HD
Updated 09/07/2021 | Published 09/06/2021 >
Question:
I have a 2021 Chevrolet 2500 High Country package. I am having problems with the trailer light plug. I have the battery circuit hot only when I check at the plug. I dont have any turn lights or trailer mark lights on either plug in the bed or on the bumper. I have checked all the fuses under the hood that I can find for the trailer. Is there a main fuse on these that I dont know about?

Your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD High Country likely has the advanced towing package. This package adds an extra couple of steps.
First you will need to determine if the Trailer Detection Alert is enabled. This information can be found in the settings menu. When a trailer is connected with the system enabled it will want you to create a trailer profile in the dash menu. The system will also start testing the lighting circuits to ensure that it doesn't detect any issues with the lighting system.
You will want to check your owners manual starting at page 286 as this system is quite extensive.
