Can Tire Chains Be Cut If They Are Too Long?

Question:

Once the chains are properly installed on my truck tires there are 4 to 5 extra links leftover. This many extra links could easily cut the brake line. Should I cut all but one extra link off? Or zip tie them?

Make sure you are using Titan Chain Tire Chains w Cams # TC3229CAM with the appropriate tire size to reduce the risk of damage to your vehicle. I do not recommend cutting the chains as they are not designed to be used in that manner. I would also use adjusters to ensure a tight fitting chain, such as # TCOA2. Check out the attached demonstration video to see how they should fit onto tires. These chains fit the following sizes:
