Just pour into black tank and leave? How long will it last 1 week, 2 weeks, ? Do I pour in and flush out??

So …. We do NOT need to add any water with the 2 oz (in my case as my tank is 40 gallon)? I’ve always added 2 gallons water with whatever treatment I am using. TIA for clarifying for me.
