Availability of Adapter for Dexter EOH Actuator for 2008 GMC Sierra 3500 Factory Brake Controller

I know that most GM brake controllers will not work with electric over hydraulic brake systems. My truck is a 2008 GMC 3500 with the integrated controller and the brake system I’m installing is the Dexter 1000psi unit. I had a previous trailer with the Hydrastar system that I put the HBA-CAM on. My questions are: 1. Does the integrated system work with the Dexter system? 2. If not, is there something like the HBA-CAM for Dexter systems? 3. Would it be better just to install an aftermarket controller? If so which one would you recommend?

In order to use the factory brake controller on your 2008 GMC Sierra with the Dexter DX Series Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator for Drum Brakes - 1,000 psi # K71-650 you will need an adapter. The good news is we have one available.
The Adapter Module for BrakeRite Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator - OE Ford, GM Brake Controllers # DX35FR is the part you are looking for. This will work just like the HBA-CAM you mentioned, and will allow you to control your Dexter Axle electric-over-hydraulic brake actuator with your factory GMC brake controller. The adpapter will intercept verification signals to prevent false error codes.
I would recommend using the adapter over buying a different brake controller. If you choose to go that route, you want to get a brake controller that is EOH compatible like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195.
