To Flat tow your 2012 Ford F-150 Lariat you will need a tow bar, base plate, tow bar wiring, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-422. This tow bar has a non-binding feature that allows you to release your vehicle at any time, anywhere on even or unlevel ground and a large hookup radius makes connecting a breeze at any angle, even if your vehicle isn't perfectly lined up with your RV.
Tow Bar Wiring: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Ford F-150's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV and includes a 7-wire to 6-wire Flexo-Coil electrical cord.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524431-5 or for Lariat without EcoBoost # 495-3A. These direct-connect base plates provide quick and easy attachment and removable arms provide a clean look when in use.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494. Get reliable braking with this lightweight, portable system. Actuator unit applies towed car's brakes after receiving signal via internal inertia sensor. Braking power settings let you adjust brake intensity based on your towed car's weight. The included charge line kit will keep your vehicle's battery charged while towing.
Safety Cables: Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables # BX88196. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level while flat towing your 2012 Ford F-150 Lariat so I've attached our help guide article that will walk you through the steps of measuring to find the correct sized adapter for your needs.
