Will the alert system work with brake buddy vintage 39504
asked by: Linda N
Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes the Replacement Remote # HM39505 will work with your Hopkins BrakeBuddy Vantage Select model number 39504. This remote will alert you if there is a brake away emergency and tell you when the brakes are activated on your BrakeBuddy.
You will need to sync the new remote to your main unit.
1. Power up / turn on both devices (dinghy and remote).
2. On the BrakeBuddy unit, hold down the (+) and (_) buttons simultaneously until the Air Pressure setting reads “LL” (Fig. 14 / K).
3. Next, with the remote, hold down the Sensitivity and Braking Mode buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
Once it has connected both the remote and main unit will read the same pressure setting. You should test the alert system by pulling the emergency cable on your vehicle to ensure it is working properly prior to towing.
