Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack Weight

Question:

Im planning on using it on a Miata which sit low compared to any SUV. I am comparing the Curt, Hollywood and Swagman, and noticed that the other two weigh 25lbs, but the Curt weighs in at 46lbs. Is this number correct? All the designs seem similar so is it due to heavier gage steel? The Curt has a shank rise of 10inch compared to the other two which are 5inch and 3inch respective. I believe that will help with my ride height concerns, but wanted to check w/ the experts.

The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # C18085 has a shipping weight of 50lbs and packaging probably weighs 2-3lbs so 46lbs is the correct weight. This hitch has an extra folding feature the others don't which adds more weight and that along with the 10" rise and less plastic used is most likely the difference in weight compared to the others.
