Question:
Installng T-one wiring harness #118613 in my 2017 Ford Transit Connect van. Is it ok to get 12v power for this wiring harness from the 12v power point in the cargo area instead of directly from the battery. It is protected by a 20A fuse.

It's very tempting to get the 12 volt power source for the trailer wiring # 118613 from the outlet you mentioned on your 2017 Ford Transit Connect but we cannot recommend this as the reason it needs to run up to the vehicle battery is so that it bypasses any factory wiring and protects it in the event of a short. That way if something were to happen on your trailer wiring any short created would have no effect on the vehicle wiring.
