Question:

I bought the EQ37100ET Equalizer Weight Distribution Hitch with Adjustable Shank and Hitch Ball - 10K from you and in setting it up it looks like I might need more for the hitch to be 0-1inch taller than the level trailer. It looks more like 1 or 2 inches of additional will be needed. The EQ37100ET uses 3/4inch bolts to attach the hitch head to the shank while most everyone else uses 5/8inch bolts. This hitch is rated up to 10K gtw or 1K TW while at most I could ever use with my truck is 4900 lbs and my current estimated need is 200 to 250 lbs. Could I get a shank with more and use spacers to fill out the 3/4inch to 5/8? difference since I will never get near the 1K TW? Do a longer shank and find somewhere that will drill the holes to 3/4inch from 5/8? Im kind of lost here and there is not much information available on the hole/bolt size for most hitches including other Equalizer ones. Would appreciate any help or suggestions. Im almost $900 into this effort already and would love for it to be worthwhile. Thanks for your help

I do have a solution for you, but you will need to use a weight distribution shank that is compatible with your Equalizer # EQ37100ET weight distribution system and not one that has been altered. I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 12" Long - 7" Rise, 3" Drop - 600 to 1,400 lbs TW # EQ90-02-4100, which is compatible with your Equalizer system. This keeps your warranty in tact and is the best solution for this problem.

If you need something with more drop then you can use the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment # C17123. If you're still in need of more drop or rise, just let me know how much you need and I can help you locate a shank that will work.
