How to Reduce Wind Noise With Inno Aero Crossbars That Are 48 & 51 Inches Long

Updated 07/22/2021 | Published 07/18/2021

Question:

I just bought these cross bars for my car and it whistles like crazy. I thought the aero bars were supposed to generate less wind noise. Is there anything that can be done to reduce the noise?

While there is a solution for you to reduce the wind noise, in regards to aero bars generating less wind noise, the amount honestly depends on which crossbars. Some crossbars are manufactured with added strips on the top channels that disrupt the wind (and therefore whistling) more than others, and the Inno aero bars like your # INXB123-130 don't have that.

So the best option to help reduce that amount of wind noise is with a fairing, and for your 48" and 51" long crossbars, the best option is a 40" long wind fairing; you'll also need an adapter to fit these crossbars:

- Inno Fairing for Roof Racks - 40" Long # INA261

- Large Crossbar Adapter Bolts for Inno Fairings # INISF717
