will this tailgate assist work with the new multi pro tailgate and will it make also make it easier to lift the tailgate to close?

The DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43103 will just make sure that your tailgate doesn't fall down super hard when you open it. With the assist you can now just unlatch the tailgate and the strut will slowly let the tailgate down on its own. It will not help lifting the tailgate. This tailgate assist system is confirmed to fit your 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 even with the new multi pro tailgate.
