Will this rack fit on a 1.5inch wide square crossbar?

I have an answer for you. Unfortunately, the Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style, Post Style, or Saddle - 2 Kayaks or SUPs # TH890000 will will not fit a 1-1/2 inch wide square crossbar. The maximum crossbars dimensions for compatibility are square bars that are 1-1/4 inches wide x 7/8 inches tall.

With that being said, a great alternative crossbar is the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 43" Long - Qty 2 # TH711120. the Thule Compass will be able to attach to these crossbars so that you can carry kayaks and SUPs on your vehicle's roof.
