Replacement Foam Pad For Hollywood Racks Trailer Rider HR200

Question:

Hi I Purchased a Hollywood HR200, Q30267 a while ago. We have been pretty happy with it. We ordered the anti rattle/stabilizer part and will be trying that soon. We have had an issue since the beginning with the rack hooks that go over the frame of our bikes always rubbing and making marks or scratches. So from the very first trip we realized we needed to protect our bikes more. We used thin packaging foam and that works about half of the time. The longer the trip the more it slides around. Now we noticed that the black foam hooks on the bike rack are worn down almost to the metal. We have always had some foam or soft rag between the hooks and the bikes to try and keep it from making marks on our bikes or scratching them. On our last trip we noticed how bad the phone was on the hooks so we purchased black pipe insulation and zip tied it to our bikes frame where the hooks go to make sure it does not scratch. Is this foam on the bike rack replaceable? And if so how can I get it? I will probably continue doing the insulation foam around my bikes on trips but I would like to replace the foam on the racks as well. The rack itself has been great except for the hooks. I love the idea of them but they have been frustrating since the beginning boys having to make sure they are not scratching or wearing our bikes Thanks so very much for any help!

Well I'm certainly glad you've been happy with your bike rack overall; I'm sure the foam wearing has been frustrating, but I did check with Hollywood Racks for you, and am happy to tell you that there is replacement foam for your model HR200 bike rack.

What you will need is the Replacement Foam Pad for Bike Frame Hooks # HRSPR-FP.

Hollywood Racks did make a note of saying that putting the new pads on can be made easier by using some warm soapy water to help them slide, so you'll want to keep that in mind.
