First, I will say that the tailgate lock cannot be wired to the trunk in your bed. There is no way for the wires to be ran from this lock to necessary wires for automatic locking.

I'm assuming the reason you would want this kind of setup is to add another level of security to the cargo you keep in this trunk. Instead, I recommend getting a tonneau cover for your Ridgeline. If you use something like the BAK Revolver X2, part # BAK39602, then you can keep everything covered. With that down, the only way to access anything in the bed (including what's in the trunk) would be to open the tailgate. With that locked by the Pop & Lock, there would be no way for potential thieves to take your belongings.
