Question:
I have a 20 ft. Grady White with a 150 Yamaha outboard. I estimate the total weight including gear and fuel to be around 4000lbs. My trailer is a roller trailer. will this winch appropriate for this boat? Id also appreciate a recommendation for a 12 volt winch as I have not fully decided on manual over electric. The boat is used mainly in salt water. Thanks in advance.

The Jif Marine 2-Speed Trailer Winch # 315-W3200D will definitely be a good manual crank option. With its 2 speeds, one for quick pull in and the other for greater mechanical advantage, and a neutral, freewheeling position for fast line payout it is a very versatile winch. The 3,200 pound capacity will also cover your application without issue.
If you wanted to check out a good electric option, the Bulldog Winch # BDW15017 is also highly recommended. This has a capacity of 3,400 to 4,000 pounds and is easily connected to 12 volt power. The free-spooling clutch ensures fast rope payout and reduces wear on the motor as well.
