Recommended Shock Kit For 2016 Forest River Cedar Creek 34RE 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 05/17/2021 | Published 05/14/2021

Question:

I have a 2016 Forest river Cedar Creek 34RE empty weight approx 11500 and loaded 14500-15000. Wanted to smooth out the ride on the trailer. Have talked with several experts and keep getting differing info. They all say one or the other is the best and it will improve both the ride of the trailer and the feel of the pull. Am pulling with a F250 diesel.....upper end of my towing ability I know but I seem to have little issue pulling. Still would like to even out the ride. Specifically I was referred to Roadmaster shocks or Moreryde shocks. Any thoughts?

I would be happy to help, but I am not sure what you are referencing when you mentioned MORryde shocks as MORryde currently does not offer shocks.

Between the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket - Single Axle - 5K to 8K - Overslung # SS26MV you were looking at and the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers I recommend the Comfort Ride hands down as it will do the best job of giving you a more comfortable ride.

The Comfort Ride kits use nitrogen filled heavy duty shocks to eliminate chucking and trailer bouncing, but they also help to reduce sway by limiting lateral movement.

The correct kit will be based on the diameter of the axles on your 2016 Forest River Cedar Creek 34RE. Due to the weight of your trailer it will either have 3" diameter axles which would require # RM-2460, or 3-1/2" diameter axles which would require # RM-2470.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
