Replacing a Loose Door Latch

Question:
I have one of these locking door latch on my trailer, but the locking mechanism where you the key has become wiggly loose. How can I tighten that washer behind the latch door? It is almost impossible to get a wrench in there, as the door only opens an inch. Is there a secret?

If you cannot get access to the nut, the only real way to get access to the needed nut will be to disassemble most of the # L1833. This would require the removal of the pin that holds the handle that the lock is secured to. With that being said, it may be better to just replace the whole mechanism.
