Viking Solutions L-E-Vator Portable Loading System

Question:
I am very interested in buying one of the systems to load some of our heavier equipment onto the bed of my 2020 F150. In looking at the pictures, I dont see how, with the unit standing on the ground, there is enough clearance with the hook to get something any more than a few inches in height to clear the tailgate on any modern mid or full size pick up, which are all built higher off the ground. On possible solution might be to stand the unit in the bed of the pick up, but that doesnt sound like being a particularly safe alternative, unless you can have the base orientated to be pointing towards the front of the truck and have the hook come down on the other side of the frame.

The overall height of the Viking Solutions L-E-Vator Portable Loading System, # 310-VLV001, is 48" but the max distance to lift items is 40". Please compare this to the height of your vehicle's tailgate for comparison.
