Question:
For my 2010 Toyota Tundra, crew cab, SR5, 4 wheel drive pickup truck: I am looking for a front mount class 3 2 inch receiver trailer hitch for hauling 2 mountain bike on our camping trips. I would get a platform type bike rack. The question I have is which hitch company Curt or Draw-Tie makes their receiver location low enough so the bikes are not effecting your driving vision. The heights of our bikes when on a platform rack is apx 3 ft . Your earliest review and reply to this E-mail would be appreciated.

The difference between the Curt # 31198 and the Draw-Tite # 65080 is pretty subtle. Both are rated exactly the same for tongue weight and will sit at the same level once installed, but the Draw-Tite # 65080 does sit out a little further than the Curt by about an inch. As you will be using a bike rack with this set up, the Draw-Tite # 65080 will be the better option as the bikes will have a little more clearance from the front of your vehicle.
It should be noted that mounting a bike rack with bikes on the front of a vehicle will always have the possibility of blocking a little of the view. That being said, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z would be a good option if you do not already have a rack. This is rated for bikes that weigh up to 50 pounds and definitely work with larger mountain bikes.
