I am more than happy to help you with getting all the parts together that you will need to flat tow your 2004 Jeep Wrangler with a double tube front bumper. I also install these items on a regular basis at our shop. The following items are what I recommend to set your vehicle up properly:
1. Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Item # RM-521424-5. This baseplate is designed to work with the double tube bumper. The removable tabs will be under the bumper so no modification is required to the bumper itself. It is a direct connect baseplate so it is easy to connect and disconnect the tow bar.
2. Etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar Item # e74ZR. This tow bar has a 6k tow capacity so it will work great for your Jeep. It works directly with the baseplate. You simply line up the brackets on the arms with the slots in the tabs and slide the pin in and secure with the attached clip. Each arm can be stored on either side of the tow bar and it comes with safety cables pre attached. It also comes equipped with a rod to hold you umbilical cord up off the ground when traveling.
3. Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit Item # RM-15267. This kit is designed to allow the taillight on your Jeep to receive light signals from you motor home. The diodes protect the factory wiring on your Jeep from back feed. It comes with the 6 pole plug and the umbilical to connect from the 6-pole plug on the front of the Jeep to the 7-pole on the back of the RV. Once installed the only thing you have to do is connect the umbilical between the two vehicles. I have provided a link to an instillation video on a 2013. The install will be the same except the wire colors. Make sure you conduct a function test for the correct wire colors before making any connections.
4. Blue Ox Patriot Braking System Item # BLU37TR. This braking system is a portable system that can be used in more than one vehicle if needed. It is also compatible with RVs that have either air brakes or hydraulic brakes. Being portable it is easy to set up when you are ready to hit the road and light enough to put away when you are ready to drive the Jeep.
