Updated 03/22/2013 | Published 03/20/2013 >
Question:
Are these shoes designed to be used with single or double wheel cylinders or both. If the answer is both, what are the advantages advantages or disadvantages of of each cylinder style. I have to replace all four cylinders along with the shoes. The current setup is this style shoe and single action wheel cylinders. Thanks

The # BP04-120 replacement brake shoes are designed for use for 10 inch x 2-1/4 inch hydraulic brake assemblies with single wheel cylinders, also called uni-servo or single serve. The double cylinders, also known as duo-servo or double serve, work the brakes in either forward or reverse, while the uni-servo cylinders only work the brakes going forward. The uni-servo style is by far the most common.
I am adding a link to some information on hydraulic drum brake systems if needed.
