I have the demco excali-bar tow bar 2006, I used for yrs honda crv, need base plate for our 2021 jeep cherokee. undecided between blue ox and e trailer why the big price difference?

While I can't speak to price differences, what I can tell you is that for your 2021 Jeep Cherokee (so long as it is not an Overland or Trailhawk model), since you have a Demco tow bar like the Demco Excali-Bar III # DM9511013 (or an earlier version of the Excali-Bar), I recommend the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98953.

There isn't any difference in function or any noticeable difference in install between the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1144 and the etrailer # e98953, so the only difference would be price as well as the fact the Blue Ox would require an adapter for your tow bar, the Demco Tow Bar Adapter for Blue Ox Base Plates # DM9523041.

So for the best value, go with the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98953.

You will also need a wiring kit and supplemental braking system if your 2021 Jeep Cherokee doesn't have them, and I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 and Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR.
