Question:

Will this box clamp to the Subaru aero crossbars as well as the Yakima Rocketbox 14? Which box will open wider? I like the size of this Thule better if it will grab the aero bars well. Thanks

The clamps on the # TH614 Thule Pulse rooftop cargo box are very similar to the ones Yakima uses in the Rocketbox 14, part # Y07192. Both use a simple hand tightening knob for the clamp mechanism, and both slide easily along the bottom of the cargo box. Either one would tighten up well on the aero style bars you have on your 2013 Subaru Forester.

I have not had a chance to use the Pulse box yet, but I did have an opportunity to use one of the smaller Yakima Rocketbox models on top of my Jeep Patriot. The clamps were really easy to use, even one handed, and I had no problem fitting them to my aero style Rhino Rack cross bars.

You can get a better look at how each clamp style works by looking at the links I am including. They show the boxes being installed so you can see them side by side. Both vehicles in the videos have aero style bars.
