Question:
Can a P3 be installed on a 2021 Sierra 1500 that has the factory integrated brake controller would it be plug and play? I have been told the P3 would offer better progressive braking than the factory system. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

Yes, the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 will work on a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 with factory integrated brake controller. That said you'd have to bypass the factory brake controller which usually entails some splicing. It also may require a trip to the dealer to clear any error codes. The Curt Echo part # C51180 is another option which won't require either of the above and performs just as well.
In order to bypass the factory integrated brake controller (ITBC) you will essentially just need to run a brake output wire from the aftermarket brake controller back to the 7-way.
