Question:

I have a 7x14x7 tall enclosed v nose trailer. I am looking to a weight control hitch with sway control. The main issue is that i do not have much room in front of the v, and the floor of the trailer is directly on the frame. I has a 2x5inch boxed frame, which crosses under the v at 25inch from the center of the ball. Also, it has a trailer brake battery box which hangs on the side of the frame, 1-1/2inch in front of where the v crosses over the frame. Trailer itself is 2300lbs, the heaviest that I plan to haul is another 2000 lbs. I am currently towing with a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. Which system would be best for this application?

I recommend going a different route for your particular trailer as you have a lot that would need to be done to install and every time you connect would require getting underneath the trailer or removing part of the v-nose bottom panel permanently.

First is a set of Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4186 for your 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. These will allow you to adjust your rear suspension to level your Tahoe for different trailer loads. A Compressor System # F2610 can be added as well to give you adjustment while you drive.

For the sway control theTuson Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 will utilize the brakes already on the enclosed trailer to control the sway. It does this by individually breaking each wheel to ensure the trailer goes straight. Best of all there are no mechanical devices that you would have to remove every time you need to backup.
