Yes, the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, # RED44FR, is compatible with and will work with your 1999 diesel Freightliner chassis motorhome system so as to operate the electric brakes on a towed trailer. I’m guessing the Freightliner was provided with a tow package and quite possibly will feature a brake controller connector or harness (4 wires) up in behind the dash or maybe under the driver’s seat? You’ll need to simply join together these Freightliner provided 4 x wires… connecting them with our included pigtail assembly as follows:
Freightliner: 12V+ Power.........................Connects with REDARC: Black
Freightliner: Brake Light Trigger..............Connects with REDARC: Red
Freightliner: Negative- Ground................Connects with REDARC: White
Freightliner: Brake Controller Output.......Connects with REDARC: Blue
