Correct Relay For Trailer Backup Circuit On 2016 Acadia

Question:

I purchased the harness #118271 and noticed in the install video there are 3 relays but I only received 2. I need a relay for the trailer reverse lights as I have surge brakes on my trailer. I’m having a hard time figuring out what relay I need. The box has GM 2753 relays everywhere so I assume those will work. But I can’t find one to purchase. Do you sell an equivalent relay that will work? Also, I read online that the GM 8430 would work, is that true? Thanks

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118271 comes with 2 relays which are typically the only relays required for trailer lights. But in your case, you will need that 3rd relay for the trailer back up circuit. You can use Relay - 4 Terminal 12 Volt # TR38665 for your trailer back up circuit. I attached a video for reference, however, you will want to look at your fuse box diagram to verify the correct slot for this relay.
