Hitch and Bike Carrying Options for 2021 Honda CR-V and Civic Type R

I'm assuming by 'new CR-V' you're meaning a 2020 or 2021 model. I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13397 which is a partially concealed hitch. The hitch crosstube is concealed behind the bumper, the only visible portion of the hitch would be the receiver tube and he safety chain hooks.

For a 5-bike rack, I'd recommend the Yakima Ridgeback 5, part # Y02459. The Ridgeback is a high quality bike rack that's very easy to use. The rack provides features like a locking anti-rattle attachment system that allows you to lock the rack to the vehicle. The controls that allow the rack to tilt away from the vehicle once the bikes are removed and allows the arms to fold flat are easily accessible and easy to use. An optional cable lock is also available as part # Y02466.

Unfortunately, the center exhaust on the Civic Type R would prevent a hitch from being installed and the spoiler would prevent a trunk mounted bike rack from being installed but we do have options that would allow you to carry bikes on the roof. In order to do this, you'd first need a roof rack. I'd recommend the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack # RR78TR, which provides a sleek appearance that looks more like an OEM offering. For bike racks, I really like the Yakima FrontLoader, part # Y02103. It's easy to use and won't require removing the bikes front wheel to carry the bikes.
