Question:

Hi - Does your batwing have mounts for the Yakima core bar crossbars? Kind of oval/elliptical shape. Other question - have you received feedback on whether or not the compact or full-size batwing is more or less appropriate for a 2016 Ram 1500, quad-cab? Thank you

As long as your 2016 Ram 1500 has Yakima crossbars that extend over the crossbar tower/leg and the crossbar has a top channel, then the Rhino-Rack Batwing Compact Awning Driver's Side - 69 Sq Ft # RR33300 or the larger Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning Driver's Side - 118 Sq Ft # RR33100 will work just fine. These awnings will mount onto the crossbar using the top channel slot making installation very easy.

We have not gotten any feedback with either size awning on a 2016 Ram 1500, but either one will work for you without an issue. I included a couple demonstration videos for you to check out.
