Question:
I have spoken to a mechanic and he says the muffler needs to be removed to install Draw-Tite - 2017 Toyota Corolla. Would you please verify that is correct?

To install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24913 on your 2017 Toyota Corolla you will not need to remove or lower the muffler for the installation. The only item that will need to be removed is a plastic trim panel held on by a few plastic rivets and a few 12mm bolts.
I included a video of the # 24913 being installed on a 2017 Toyota Corolla for you to take a look at.
