Recommended Roof Rack And Kayak Carrier For 2020 Honda Civic 4 Door Sedan

Hi there I am looking to get a rack for my Honda Civic for a kayak, assuming that I will also need to get some sort of crossbars as well? needing assistance with this please thank you

You are correct, you will first need a crossbar/roof rack in which you could then mount a kayak carrier to the roof. For your 2020 Honda Civic 4 door sedan I recommend going with Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2. This is a low-profile aerodynamic roof rack that has reduced noise and vibration compared to other roof rack setups. There is a built-in T slot channel on top of the crossbars which allows many accessories to be easily installed. To install these crossbars you will also need Leg Kit # RRRLKVA and Fit Kit # DK453.

The crossbars have locking endcaps to secure your channel-mounted accessories, and there are built-in locks in the legs to secure the roof rack to your vehicle's roof and deter theft. This setup has the highest weight capacity available which is 165lbs.

For a kayak carrier I recommend looking into the Rhino-Rack 2 Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # S512-S512X. This will work well with the Rhino-Rack crossbars mentioned above. The kayak carrier can hold 1 or 2 kayaks on their sides by using the rubber padded cradle arms; tie-down straps are included. The weight capacity is 165lbs for this kayak carrier.
