Correct Wire Gauge for Electric Trailer Brakes

Rodents have chewed multiple spots in my electrical brake wiring and I need to rewire my 2005 Weekend Warrior Triple Axle. What do you recommend I use? I believe its a 12 ga main line with 14 ga axle branch lines.

Well that's unfortunate the rodents got to your wires, but you can replace it, and I recommend just going with 12 gauge wire, which is the standard wire size for electric brakes. You can get as much as you need, sold by the foot, with the 12 Gauge Black Primary Wire # 12-1-1.
Then you would make the connections with butt connectors, the 12-10 Gauge Butt Connector # 05732-2.
