Trailer Coupler Lock For Coupler Without Pin Hole
Updated 02/25/2021 | Published 02/23/2021 >
Question:
I have an older utility trailer. The hitch coupler does not have a hole which would accept a locking pin to keep the hitch from opening while attached to a vehicle. is there another type of lock available to do this?

We do have trailer coupler locks you can use, but if your coupler doesn't have a pin hole, there isn't a way to lock it while it's attached to your vehicle's hitch ball; it will need to be uncoupled for a lock to be put on. Once you do that, you can use a surround-style lock, with the best option being from Master Lock:
- Master Lock Trailer Coupler Lock - 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Ball Couplers # ML389DAT
This is a heavy-duty lock that fits around all different styles of trailer coupler to help deter theft. It has gotten very strong reviews from the many hundreds of customers who have used it, as you can see on the product page. I have also added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well.
