Question:
I am looking for replacement grease seals for a 2001 CE Smith model 45110 trailer product discontinued in 2003

I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, who tells me that the 45110 is the part number for the trailer frame only, and wouldn't be any help in determining which axle was used on the trailer. Without knowing the axle and it's capacity, anything I'd tell you about a replacement grease seal would just be a guess. To muddy the waters further, CE Smith routinely sold those frames to many different manufacturers of smaller trailers who then finished them by adding axles, fenders, suspensions, etc.
The best way to determine the needed grease seal would be to get the reference numbers off the inner and outer wheel bearings. The reference number is printed or stamped into the side of the bearing cages as shown in the provided photo. If you can't make out the reference numbers, or if the cages don't have numbers on them, you can measure the inside diameter of the inner and outer wheel bearing using a digital caliper like part # PTW80157. I'll also need the diameter of the surface of the spindle where the grease seal rides.
The # CE16305A seal you'd looked at would fit a spindle that's right at or just shy of 1 inch in diameter.
If you can get me the information requested above, I'd be happy to assist further.
I've linked to an article about trailer bearings and grease seals that you might find helpful.
